I'm Dawid, a final-year Computer Science student in Manchester. I build full-stack web apps, and for fun I rebuild the parts underneath them: an HTTP server, a DNS server, a search engine.

Skills

I write TypeScript, React and Next.js on the front end, with Node, Express and PostgreSQL behind them. I ship with Docker and GitHub Actions, and use Java and Spring Boot for my final-year project.

The tools I reach for. gamecommendo runs on Next.js, Better Auth, PostgreSQL and Docker. Client sites go out on Astro, and my final-year project is Java and Spring Boot.

Projects

gamecommendo recommends games by meaning. The Index ranks Wikipedia pages with BM25, and my HTTP and DNS servers run on raw sockets with no libraries.

Two one-month placements in Poland, installing network antennas, cameras, cabling and server racks for business and home clients.

Rebuilt the laptop refurbishment process so one person now prepares 20 laptops a day, a batch that used to take two people three days. Wrote the internal app that activates Windows licences and deploys the OS on every machine the business ships.

Goated Software

A web design agency for local businesses. I pitch gyms with homepage mockups made for them before we ever speak. AMN Events Deco became the first paying client, and I built and still maintain their site.
